ELectronic Research Funding Information System

How we work

ELFI collects comprehensive information from the internet with the help of software-robots that explore websites for relevant information on research funding, e.g. grants, scholarships and awards, all other kinds of funding that contribute to support scientists in their projects.

To be up-to-date relevant websites and databases are monitored regularly for upcoming news and changes.

Once a Web-document was observed and categorized as new important content, it leads to a new entry in the database with a full categorization of the represented information unit, e.g. a new programm. Each funding information item also consists of a short abstract and the important key data. This indexing procedure contributes to define programms and their content for prospective users.
